Getting started as a realtor

Thinking about a career in real estate, or licensed and looking for a team? Here is how we help new agents get going.

How to get licensed in Ontario

  1. Take the pre-registration program. The Ontario Real Estate Salesperson Program (delivered by Humber Polytechnic and partner colleges) has five courses and two simulations, to be finished within 24 months.
  2. Join a brokerage and register with RECO within 12 months of finishing. This is where The OP Team comes in.
  3. Finish the post-registration (articling) courses within your first 24 months as a registered salesperson.

Most people finish the courses in 9 to 18 months while working. Budget roughly $4,500 to $5,500 for tuition and exams.

Why start with The OP Team

You learn from agents with 2,000+ transactions of combined experience, at a RE/MAX office in Vaughan, with in-house media from Toronto Property Media for your listings. Michael started in 2011 and is happy to talk about what the first year really looks like.
